Descrição
Resumo:The effects of the metropolization process in the metropolitan areas of Mexico have generated a type of urban sprawl that doesn’t continue with the existing urban tissue. It’s known that this phenomenon flourishes in the globalization context, as a socioeconomic process that manifest physically in the territory and produces social, urban and political transformations in cities. Applying territorial analysis approach, the study focus on the metropolization process in Queretaro’s Metropolitan Area, which has been noticed for the accelerated sprawl of its urban surface through time. The methodology searches to standardize the measurement of this phenomena in order to compare results between the Mexican cities. In this case the research shows the way a metropolitan scale territory is covered by urbanization and how to make a comparative exploration between decades 1990-2010.
