Sumario:This paper analyzes the complaintsand protests against repartimiento mine labor in Viceroyalties of Peru and New Spain. Taking various cases of resistance, this essaya nalyzes, first, the arguments and justifications for resistance to involuntary mine labor and, secondly, the different types of dissension. Using the comparative perspective tool we contrast the specific features of these two mining worlds and the common key-point of the repartimiento mine labor, which was a indicator to differentiate between the two Viceroyalties.
