Sumario:The changes in Article 27 of the Mexican Agrarian Law in 1992 led to major changes in fisheries production cooperatives in the municipalities of San Blas, Santiago Ixcuintla, Tuxpan, Rosamorada and Tecuala, Nayarit. In this context, the investigation analyzes the implications of the General Law of Cooperatives of 1994 and the way in which the leaders and presidents of the cooperatives adapted the changes in the current organization of the fishing cooperatives. The main result is that the fisheries cooperatives studied, from the implementation of permits and concessions in 1992, have not fulfilled the objective of promoting community organization to meet individual and collective needs.
