| Sumario: | Based on a comprehensive assessment, this article argues that Mexico’s national power in the field of finance is feeble. Therefore, the Mexican state is not prepared to assertively address the increasing expression of systemic geopolitical rivalries through financial channels. Likewise, its close economic ties to the United States increase Mexico’s exposure to a potential external disruption. As a result, structural imbalances and vulnerabilities exist that jeopardize the country’s national security. Moreover, this dangerous situation is heightened by a lack of appropriate policies and institutional capabilities. |
