Sumario:This article proposes a reflection on a possible methodological route in order to begin to understand, in a plausible manner, the implications of convergent technologies such as bio and nanotechnology. The methodology proposed by Jeong, Kim and Choi (2015) for the measurement of convergence through patent is retaken. In addition, adaptations are proposed, which cover the use of other sources of information, and the technical classifications that define bio and nanotechnology. It is observed that there is reduced convergence between the mentioned sectors, as the main literature on the subject underlines (Roco, Bainbridge, Tomn, and Whitesides, 2013). Finally, the convergence is characterized in terms of technologies and companies.
