| Resumo: | The present text addresses the way in which university structures promote the reproduction of a matrix of responsibilities related to provision and care according to gender. The study is based on quantitative and qualitative research that was carried out in four Mexican universities: University of Guadalajara, Autonomous University of Guerrero, Michoacan University of San Nicolas of Hidalgo and Autonomous University of Nayarit, during the 2014-2015 school year. As a conclusion, it is proposed that universities must be gender sensitive in order to establish policies of co-responsibility for working and family life, for both male and female faculty, since care work must be conceptualized as a public issue. This in order to establish conditions for the substantive equality of women. |
