| Sumario: | We present here the recent results on our understanding of ox ygen abundance gradients derived using Integral Field Spectroscopic surveys. In particular we analyzed mor e than 2124 datacubes corresponding to individual objects observed by the CALIFA ( ∼ 734 objects) and the public data by MaNGA ( ∼ 1390 objects), deriving the oxygen abundance gradient for each galaxy. We confirm previo us results that indicate that the shape of this gradient is very similar for all galaxies with masses above 1 0 9 . 5 M · , presenting in average a very similar slope of ∼ − 0 . 04dex within 0.5-2.0 r e , with a possible drop in the inner regions ( r < 0 . 5 r e ) and a flattennig in the outer regions. For lower masses ( > 10 9 . 5 M · ) the gradient seems to be flatter than for more massive ones. A ll these results agree with an inside-out growth of massive gal axies and indicate that low mass ones may still be growing in an outside in phase. |
