| Sumario: | The generation of solid wastes in markets and tianguis is managed and disposed of with other municipal refuse, which has an impact on the environment. Although these organic wastes are a potential source of organic matter. This project was carried out to evaluate the efficiency of an anaerobic digestion as a treatment of the organic fraction generated in these sites. Physical and chemical analysis were carried out. The results indicate that anaerobic decomposition is a safe and efficient method for this kind of solid wastes, which are wet, acid and fibrous. The experimentation phase was carried out in laboratory with an indian digestor. A seven day retention time was determined as the optimum for the process of matter digestion. |
