Descripción
Sumario:The present study, of a qualitative nature, aims at building a series of ethical competencies, as a complex learning, that allow to train university-level social work students capable of facing the intrinsic challenges of the profession; and to guide the teaching and evaluation decisions of their teachers. The methodology included an inductive data survey, with 17 professors from a Chilean Social Work School who participated in four discussion groups. The research process and data analysis allowed the construction of ethical competencies by fields of professional action and an ethical frame of reference for university education, which accounts for the significant and unique role of ethics in higher education. The implications of these competencies are discussed at the transversal level in social work curricula.
