Descripción
Sumario:The composite electrodes with graphite matrix are formed with an homogeneous mixture of graphite powder, electroactive species and binder. The chemical nature of binder could be liquid (either conductive or nor conductive), or epoxy resin. These kind of electrodes are widely used in different fields of the Electrochemistry. Meanwhile, the comprehension of the basis of their operation are scarce. The main objective of this work, is the description of the electrochemical operation of the composite electrodes with a graphite matrix. These description has been performed by means of the comparative analysis of the electrochemical behavior of ferrocene/ferrocenium couple contained into the different kind of composite electrodes: paste electrode with conducting binder (sulfuric acid), and non conducting binder (mineral oil or nujol), and solid electrodes formed with epoxy resin. In other hand, the potentialities of the composite electrodes with graphite matrix have been considered, in different applications. Firstly, the construction and characterization of composite electrodes with dimethylglyoxime and non conductor binder has been described. These electrodes were used for the Ni(I1) quantification in basic solutions. Otheryise, it is shown the use of the composite electrodes in the mechanism study of the redox behavior of diphenylcarbazide-diphenylcarbazone-diphenylcarbadiazon.
