| Sumario: | El Túnel, an artificial spring opened in the Chichinautzin basalts, reveals that flow in the basalts aquifer is similar to that found in karst formations (pseudokarst features). Analysis of the flow diagram shows that the aquifer recharge is accomplished through both fast and slow flow paths. This explains the elevated flowrate of the springs in the dry season and permits an understanding of the aquifer behavior. El Túnel may be characterized as a stable spring with a low depletion coefficient during the dry season. |
