Sumario:This essay aims to present a successful example of the political participation of indigenous women. For this reason, in the first place, is highlighted the importance of women participating and exercising their political-electoral rights, it’s analyzed the progress that has been made and emphasized the obstacles that prevent a substantive participation of women in general, and of indigenous women in particular. Next and derived from an electoral observation process that is being carried out in the county of Cuetzalan del Progreso, in the State of Puebla, is presented the possible causes that are contributing to a cultural change that are reflected in the increase of the participation of indigenous women in the public life of the county.
