Sumario:Education in Mexico has experimented a long process of secularization. Nevertheless, in the case of sexuality education, this process has been obstructed by conservative groups related to the Catholic Church that have fought to impede the teaching of sex education from a secular standpoint to minors. The aim of this article is to systematize the moments in which in which these groups have manifested their opposition through concrete actions during the 20th-21st century, and ponder the impact of this opposition in the process of secularization of education in order to stablish the responsibility of the State to limit the intervention of these social actors in the definition of sexuality education policies and contents, thus warranting its secular and scientific nature.
