Sumario:The palaeoenvironmental reconstruction of a site of archaeological interest in the Basin of Zacapu, in the State of Michoacan, Mexico, was performed through pollen analysis. From the analysis of sediments of the central part of the swamp of Zacapu and the contact zone "Las Lomas"-swamp, it is possible to distinguish three climatic stages: 1) From ca 8100 to ca 6700 BP, temperate-humid or subhumid climate. 2) From ca 6700 to ca 5000 BP, temperate-halfdry climate. 3) From ca 5000 BP to the present time, temperate-subhumid climate. Since 7000 BP, the ancient Lake of Zacapu has been a swamp. The climatic changes show more variations in the humidity than in the temperature. In the last 5000 BP, the climate in the area of Zacapu has been about the same as now: temperate subhumid.
