| Sumario: | The positivist paradigm, also known as the quantitative, empirical-analytical or rationalist paradigm, has as its main objective to explain, predict and control phenomena through the verification of theories and laws. This approach is especially relevant in physics and mathematics research, where the aim is to identify the real causes of phenomena and their temporal relationship with other events. Quantitative research is based on this paradigm, using rigorous methods and techniques to collect and analyze numerical and statistical data to obtain accurate and verifiable results. In this way, quantitative research in physics and mathematics can provide a deeper understanding of natural phenomena and increase our knowledge and ability to predict and control these phenomena in the physical and mathematical world. |
