| Sumario: | El Estero "El Salado" is one of the few areas that has an important mangrove cover (around 169 hectares), within the Bay of Banderas. However, because it is located within the city of Puerto Vallarta, it is subject to strong pressures to incorporate it into the growth of the city; that occurs in a disorderly manner. Due to the importance of the mangrove ecosystems of the world and Mexico, it is necessary before proposing the development of activities in the estuary area. Establish the ecological value of another of the Bay of Banderas, which will be obtained through the analysis of its hydrological, structure, defoliation, decomposition and dynamics of mangrove detritus, and material flows between the estuary and the Bay. |
