| Sumario: | Número 118Enero - Abril 2007ISSN 0041 8633 LA NACIONALIZACIÓN DE LAS INDUSTRIAS PETROLERA Y ELÉCTRICA José OVALLE FAVELA* This work paper makes a historical and constitutional analysis of two nationalizations that took place in Mexico. The author examines these two fundamental political decisions and the historical process that led to them. He makes a clear differentiation of the two nationalizations, because the one that affected the oil industry was performed through expropriation, whereas the one that concerned the power industry took place through the purchase of actions of companies that provided this service; in this form the Mexican State acquired both industries, although, due to political changes and economic interests, this situation is trying to be changed today. Descriptors: nationalization, expropriation, public sector. * Investigador en el Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas y profesor en la Facultad de Derecho en la UNAM. * Nota: Debido que la traducción es automática podrá ser inexacta o contener errores.
