Descripción
Sumario:This essay is a reflection about the controversy that Luther faced in Leipzig. The importance of this event is reviewed accordingly to the development of the Lutheran thinking. Furthermore, it is pointed outthat it was until that controversy, that Luther was convincedfor the first time about some of the fundamental ideas ofhis reforming ideology. Also, it is analyzed how the Leipzig controversy determined this direct challenge to the pope, the radicalization of Luther's position towards the response of the Roman Church, and the impulse he got to promote the breaking against the Catholic Church. Once the Leipzig controversy is analyzed as the main cause of the separation from Rome, this essay also shows the importance of the Luther's doctrine, not only in this event, but in each of the moments that are considered important in the religious breaking.
