Fotodegradación de contaminantes orgánicos en fase acuosa empleando fotocatalizadores de TiO₂ modificados con metales de transición

In the present work, titanium dioxide materials doped with transition metal cations (Cr, Cu and Mo) were synthesized by the sol-gel method. To analyze the photocatalytic activity the dop ing content was vary to 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 5.0 wt.%. The synthesized materials were characterized by Fourier trans...

Descripción
Sumario:In the present work, titanium dioxide materials doped with transition metal cations (Cr, Cu and Mo) were synthesized by the sol-gel method. To analyze the photocatalytic activity the dop ing content was vary to 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 5.0 wt.%. The synthesized materials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, Ultraviolet- visible, Raman and X ray photoelectronic spec troscopy, also structural-textural techniques were applied as X ray diffraction, Nitroge n sorption, thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis. The photocatalytic activity of the system was evaluated by heterogeneous photocatalysis, using low intensity ultraviolet lamps. Phenol and 2, 4-diclorophenoxiacetic acid were used as probe molecules, this compound actually are present in wastewater coming from pesticides use. The most active materials were the chro mium and molybdenum doping titania at 0.1 percent. These materials remove the 98 percent of the pollutant matter on aqueous phase. For a better understanding the results are tabulated and plotted.
