| Sumario: | To analyze how Colombian institutions are related (formal and informal) to economic growth from 1996 to 2016. The methodology used was quantitative descriptive, data from secondary bases (BM, Latinobarómetro and WGI) were employed. The results showed a parallel growth between political stability; rules/laws; and per capita GDP. The corruption control and generalized confidence shows a negative relation. Formal and informal institutions are determinant to economic growth in Colombia. The implementation of more inclusive institutions can increase the country´s income levels. |
