| Summary: | Women have always been economically active in all societies yet they have been subject to employment and workplace discrimination. In most cases there is a tend to compare them with their male counterparts, being almost always at a disadvantage, mainly for reasons of cultural nature. This paper is the result of a research project carried out with small business entrepreneurs in the manufacturing industry in the city of Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, and aims to better understand the business management styles of those interviewed. The study is qualitative and the technique used was a semi-structured interview based on a custom questionnaire guide. The results of the analysis of three interviews with entrepreneurs are presented which showed coincidences with regard to the lack of professionalism in their management style. |
