Sumario:The article shows the design and construction of a drive system for the speed control of an industrial fan that reproduces wind signals similar to those of the environment through a wind tunnel, for testing wind turbines. The speed is regulated by controlling the speed of the three-phase motor that moves the fan using a SIEMENS speed variator. The system allows generating wind signals with a profile defined by a database whose values were measured with an anemometer or using regulated signals with constant values. For the implementation of the control system and the communication of the devices, a digital signal processor was used, which acts as an interface to transmit the data between the programming environment developed in VisSim and the control and regulation stage.
