Descripción
Sumario:This paper presents the results of the first phase of an action-research study that aims to strengthen the academic training of the Gerontology students through diversified and flexible tutoring to influence comprehensively on the intracurricular and extracurricular aspects of the training process.  The basis of this study is supported by academic and contextual factors, which include sociodemographic and socioemotional aspects. It should be noted that this area is resumed as a recent career that emerged in 2015 as an innovative proposal included in the educational offering of the Autonomous University of Hidalgo State, to train competent gerontologists who know and apply the theoretical, methodological foundations and technicians from the various aspects of this discipline, to creatively solve the problems faced by the elderly population in different areas of the gerontological intervention. To this end, within the institutional training strategies is the Tutoring Program as one of the institution strategies itself, executed in a diversified manner and complementing itself with other programs, based on the specific group and individual characteristics and needs.
