Since its very beginning it faces reject and disappearance. Reject by the traditional artistic judgment; disappearance as a new aesthetic strategy, looking for survival and presence. Reject, as well as disappearance of the Fountain, are analyzed in this article as outstanding characteristics of the work in contemporary art.
