Summary:Aging involves a series ofmorphological, psychological, functional andbiochemical changes in humans, characterizedby progressive loss of adaptability and reservecapacity of the organism to changes. Why supportgroups in the health institutions are called uponto create a cozy atmosphere, it has been shown tobelong to them favor new ties and social relationsto their members. Physical activity and coexistenceare factors that benefit the health of people, it hasbeen shown that these practices in older adults, hasseveral positive effects. Objective: To interpret theexperiences of older adults in physical activationprogram to enhance self-care. Methodology:Qualitative research with phenomenologicalmethod, in-depth interviews were conducted at 5seniors. Findings: emerged two analytical categories,the first category: Healthcare Improvement twosubcategories 1.1 ease of physical movement andmotivation for self-care 1.2. The second category:2. Social recognition with two subcategories: 2.1the importance of communication 2.2 sense ofbelonging. Conclusions: Self-care is an excellentstrategy for the group of older adults because theyrecognize their own physical and mental abilities,self-assessed as useful and active, exercise andcoexistence provided them physical but alsocreated emotional bonds and a marked coexistencestrengthened social relationships, according toinformants also contributed to an emotional being.
