| Resumo: | The objective of this paper is to analyze alternative food networks (raa), materialized in the producers’ organization ‘Nómadas’, based on five analytical dimensions: 1) organization’s identity; 2) differentiated products and ‘origin’ valorization; 3) recovery of heritage assets; 4) promotion of rural-urban linkages and short supply chains, and 5) multifunctionality of the territory and continuity of the activity. This is in order to identify the potential of these alternative food networks to contribute to the valorization of food heritage. This research is based on a mixed methodology (qualitative and quantitative) that contrasted the dimensions proposed above with the ‘Nómadas’ case study, which was elaborated through a semi-structured interview, non-participant observation, and the application of a survey to producers, members of the organization. ‘Nómadas’ alternative food network positions itself as a network that connects agri-food collectives whose strong promotion of the food-territory-culture link has favored the safeguarding and the food heritage reproduction, tending towards fairer and more sustainable agri-food systems. |
