| Sumario: | This article offers a critical approach to the historical trajectory of peasant studies in Cuba during the last six decades. It is a new approach that places in perspective and evaluates the theoretical-methodological and epistemic developments achieved in this field of study from the interdisciplinary links forged between Rural Sociology and Marxist Political Economy. Based on the selection and analysis of the most representative texts corresponding to the period studied, the authors examine old and new themes, highlight the most notable influences received from currents of contemporary social thought and explore some of the main conceptual contributions built on the basis of the empirical findings recorded in the period. The scope of the proposal resides in the contribution of a reflective systematization around the sociostructural and socio-economic inquiries about the peasant subject. It responds, therefore, to the imperative of achieving transdisciplinary theoretical elaborations of greater depth in this field of rural research. |
