| Sumario: | This essay explicitly formulates the notion of “heterogeneous mimesis”, which Antonio Cornejo Polar implicitly outlined in his later works, but without enough time to complete a full theoretical development. In accordance with other notions, such as “contradictory totality”, “migrant subject”, and of course “heterogeneity”, this essay seeks to give a theoretical account of the relationship between a notion as complex and old as mimesis, and the use of the organicist metaphor of “body”, within the imaginary of the literary historiographies of the Latin American nations. |
