| Sumario: | The treatment of pulpotomies has been carried out since 1923, with a success rate ranging from 55% to 98%, using various materials after the removal of the cameral pulp. However, for some years it has been considered that this procedure is not ideal in some cases, since certain materials cause undesirable effects (toxic, carcinogenic and mutagenic). For this reason and in order to avoid failures in pulpotomies, various materials have been used, including formocresol, calcium hydroxide, ferric sulfate, laser, mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), tricalcium silicate (Biodentine), others. |
