| Sumario: | The term graffiti derives from the Italian expression graffito originating from the Greek grapho, which means to record. Leila Gándara (2002) defines it as follows: way: “Graffities the plural of graffito, which means “inscription” or “scribble” in Italian. In Italian, the verb graffiare means to scribble and derives from the term Greek graphien, meaning “to write” (p. 15). For his part, Joan Garí (1995) refers to graffiti in the following way: “The term comes from the Italian graffiare (scribbling) and a certain strangely customary use has ended up convert it into an international noun, outside of any convention morphological” (p. 23).
