| Sumario: | This article analyzes population aging in the state of Baja California and its five municipalities in the 2000-2010 period. Data from the 2000 and 2010 censuses are used to characterize demographic structures. Population projections from the Consejo Nacional dePoblación (Conapo) are also used to examine the future development of the main demographic indicators. Findings reveal that the number of people 60 years and over are increasing rapidly and, as a consequence is it is important to plan, since now, the type of demographic aging that the Baja California society desires. |
