Resumo:How do you confront the reader in training with the reading of those works that make up the historical-literary canon of the school? Undoubtedly, the reading of the great canonical works requires a certain linguistic and cognitive maturity, but, even so, there are various teaching strategies –including adaptations– in order not to prevent children and adolescents from the enjoyment of great titles. Thus, a review is presented on the adaptation of the classic Lazarillo de Tormes to the picture book Lazarillo (2019, Diego Pun Ediciones). The analysis of this modern and updated version of the pícaro (the rogue) aims to emphasize the concept of adaptation as a meeting point between literary theory and didactic-cognitive theory, highlighting adaptations as a strategy of confluence between the enjoyment of classical texts and the reading and literary competence of students in training.
