Description
Summary:The aim of the paper is to analyze the development of labor studies in Mexico both from the point of view of the evolution of the thematic field and its articulation with social and economic changes that have taken place in recent decades. Through a review and analysis of relevant studies, the ways in which the field has professionalized, specialized, and acquired a more solid institutional framework are illustrated. At the same time, some of the limitations of these studies are examined and future challenges are pointed out, considering recent changes in the labor markets and occupations. Transformations brought about by the irruption of digital technologies and new national and international regulations such as those derived from the T-Mec, are mainly highlighted.
