| Sumario: | Since pre-Hispanic times, the mobility of tepehuanes from the southern Sierra Norte of Nayarit and southern Durango to the coastal area of Nayarit and Sinaloa has been an important alternative to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, safeguarding physical integrity, and acquiring products to celebrate "the custom" ancestral. Generally, the movement has been back and forth, however, for at least the last hundred years and for various reasons many of them have not returned to the sierra and have settled in places of which they hardly return to their communities of origin for What can be said that the geography of the Tepehuana region has changed. In the present article we will try to answer the following questions: what causes the displacements of Tepehuanes?. What is the present geography of the Tepehuana region? What differences and similarities are there between the cultural features of the Tepehuan population living in New settlements and the one that still remains in the so-called "traditional" communities?. |
