Resumo:Background: Predict the mesiodistal size of the teeth that have not yet erupted it is an important part of the diagnosis and treatment during the mixed dentition stage. The analysis of mixed dentition of Moyers it is the most commonly used for the diagnosis of malocclusions. Objective: The objective of this research is to evaluate the analysis of mixed dentition Moyer`s without division of gender, and if not be effective to carry out the settings to be used in the population of Nayarit. Materials and methods: The research is descriptive, transversal and non-experimental. The universe of study was 912 models and sample of 506 models that met the inclusion criteria. We used a digital gauge brand Mitutoyo, data were tabulated and statistics took place in the program SPSS version 18. Descriptive statistics was calculated and the results were compared with Student’s t test. Results: The analysis of Moyers is not effective for use in Nayarit, the 75th percentile can only be used in the mandible, the adjustment of Moyers analysis for the population of Nayarit was effective to the 50 percentile, with the 75th percentile is not effective for predicting the size of canines and premolars. Conclusions: The analysis of Moyers is not effective for use in the population of Nayarit. The adjustment to the 50 percentile is effective for predict the mesiodistal size of canines and premolars of Nayarit.
