Descripción
Sumario:The acai is the fruit of the palm tree Euterpe oleracea (originally from the Brazilian Amazon forest), it has the form of a small grape and a purple color, similar to a black grape or a blueberry. It has been informed that its consumption, either the pulp or seed, has a positive effect on the cardiovascular health due to the antioxidants that it contains, such as anthocyanins [cyanidin 3-rutinoside (1,93 mg / g of dry weight) and cyanidin 3-glucoside (1,17 mg / g of dry weight)]. The anthocyanins have an antioxidant capacity, which inhibits the free radicals and protects cells from oxidative damage.
