In this sense, her case will allow us to reflect not only on her lifestory, but also on the religious control exercised by the Inquisition and the mobilityof Protestant women in the Hispanic dominions, which is framed in the diplomaticrelations of the Spanish Monarchy with other kingdoms.Entre 1711 y 1713 la Inquisición de Cartagena de Indias procesó a MagdalenaHodston, una fémina de “nación inglesa”, quien radicó en esa ciudad portuaria,generando grandes interrogantes. Su caso es significativo pues no existen estudiossobre el tema. En este sentido, su causa nos permitirá reflexionar no sólo sobresu historia de vida, sino también sobre el control religioso que ejercía laInquisición y la movilidad de las mujeres protestantes en los dominios hispánicos,misma que se enmarca en las relaciones diplomáticas de la Monarquía españolacon otros reinos.Entre 1711 et 1713, l’Inquisition au pouvoir à Carthagène des Indes a persécutéMagdalena Hodston, une femme anglaise qui résidait dans cette ville portuaire.Son cassuscitebeaucoup de questions et l’inexistence d’antécédents de recherchebiographique donne plus de sens à son étude. Dans cette perspective, ce casexemplaire nous permettra de réfléchir non seulement sur sa propre histoire,mais aussi sur le contrôle religieux exercé par l’Inquisition et sur la mobilité desfemmes protestantes dans les dominions hispaniques.
