(CIMIGen) developed this tool. Which consists of 40 questions sent by Google Forms. The responses were evaluated according to colors: Level I Green: low risk; Level II Yellow: medium risk; and Level III Red: high risk. Results: The age of 21.4±3.1 years. The marital status of 179 corresponds to single (97%), 3 are married (2%) and 3 are in a common law union (2%). 6 have a history of pregnancy (3%). The association of marital status and pregnancy was r = 0.65, we found a high relationship as an associated risk. According to the PREVIGEN-1 risk traffic light, 147 participants (79.45%) are at medium risk for 32 (17.29%), and 6 (3.24%) are at high risk. Conclusion: PREVIGEN-1 is a tool that measures preconception risk and allows determining and evaluating the woman's health status to consider a satisfactory pregnancy.

La tasa de mortalidad materna y perinatal refleja la morbilidad implícita, el entorno y calidad de vida de la mujer. Objetivo: Identificar factores de riesgo preconcepcional en una muestra de estudiantes de medicina. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio observacional, prospectivo, transversal, en 185 estudiantes de Medicina de la Universidad Veracruzana. Se aplicó el cuestionario de la primera sección del semáforo de riesgo Sistema para Detección y Evaluación de Riesgo Perinatal (PREVIGEN-1), esta herramienta fue elaborada por el Centro de Investigaciones Materno Infantil Gen. (CIMIGen). El cual consiste en 40 preguntas enviadas por Google Forms. Las respuestas se evaluaron de acuerdo a colores: Nivel I Verde: riesgo bajo; Nivel II Amarillo: riesgo medio; y Nivel III Rojo: riesgo alto. Resultados: La edad de 21.4±3.1 años. El estado civil de 179 corresponde a soltería (97 %), 3 son casadas (2 %) y 3 están en unión libre (2 %). 6 poseen antecedentes de embarazo (3 %). La asociación del estado civil y el embarazo fue r = 0.65, encontramos una relación alta como riesgo asociado. De acuerdo al semáforo de riesgo PREVIGEN-1, 147 participantes (79.45%) se encuentran en un riesgo medio por 32 (17.29 %), y en riesgo alto 6 (3,24 %).
