| Resumo: | This article shares the results of research exploring the differential characteristics of the pre-candidatures’ launch in Instagram videos, as well as the candidacies’ stories and feed —according to gender— during the 2021 legislative elections campaigns in Argentina. The sample includes 265 stories, 8 presentation videos, and 86 feed publications. A quantitative content analysis method was used, together with categories from socio-semiotics and theories regarding the mediatization of politics. The results show similarities in the most used types of content, as well as differences among legislator candidates according to their gender. The main differences were focused on the introduction of the public figure in the videos, content dissemination regarding media participation, the frequency of argumentation, content that alludes to contact with citizens, and posts and stories referring to the Covid-19 pandemic. |
