Descripción
Sumario:This article details the results of a research project carried out to charac- terize the physicochemical properties of ve types of volcanic stone (rhod- izite), commonly known as “cantera” and traditionally used for construction and restoration of historic buildings in the city of Oaxaca Mexico. In the experimental program, ve stone samples were analyzed in order to know their petrographic and mineralogical characteristics by X-ray fluorescence and petrographic analysis. In the same manner, testing for compressive strength, density and absorption was carried out. Finally, the results in the experimental program were analyzed and correlated with the strength and durability properties of the ve types of stone.
