Sumario:In the Palacio de los Deportes, in Mexico City, both attendees and artists report what they perceive to be "sound echoes," in detriment to the acoustic quality. The objective of this paper is to determine the acoustic and architectural characteristics that are causing these deficiencies given that, until now, no scientific study has been carried out in this regard. This technical report provides the results of an acoustic simulation, complemented with in situ measurements. Using acoustic ray tracing, early sound reflections are identified due to a particular characteristic of the architecture, and the effect of these early sound reflections on the perceived acoustic quality is evaluated, based on psychoacoustic criteria.
