Description
Summary:We provide the first record of attempted predation on a species of the genus Xenosaurus, specifically on a young individual of Xenosaurus grandis, by the snake Amastridium sapperi in a rainforest of the Sierra Mazateca, Oaxaca, Mexico. In addition, we expand the geographical distribution records of this snake for the state of Oaxaca. This predation record of a species with evasive habits that are difficult to observe in wildlife increases the knowledge of the ecological interactions that shape the structure and function in communities and ecosystems.
