| Resumo: | One March afternoon in 2007, walking along the Malecon in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, on the Mexican Pacific coast, I stumbled across a sign that said, "You are not born an athlete, you do it. I couldn't go one step further because, besides being stunned by the use of the expression with which Simone de Beauvoir cimbró Western philosophy, I wondered who owned the phrase, if they would have paid royalties or something like that. I thought that feminists should be outraged by the commercial use of the expression or, perhaps, establish an association that would take care of what uses would be given to it, who would have the right to use it, in what contexts, and so on.
