| Sumario: | The article has a twofold purpose: to appraise the father Kino participation in the Isidoro Atondo’s expedition to Lower California and give academic recognition to the memory of Miguel Mathes for recording Kino’s endeavors. The text goes through the Spanish Crown attempts to colonize California, and portrays a brief biography of Atondo.
