Descrição
Resumo:The objective of this article is to understand the relationship between the demands for environmental justice, peace agreements and environmental peace in the context of the post-conflict in Colombia, based on a community experience in Montes de María, municipality of Ovejas in the department of Sucre, where we find political, legal and social actions for the construction of an environmental peace in that territory. The research car- ried out followed a qualitative methodology, that involved documentary review, analysis and interpretation of different documents, participant observation and semi-structured surveys, to conclude that in the Colombian case, there is a relationship between the internal armed conflict, natural wealth and claims for environmental justice, which have resulted in actions of the community to achieve its protection through the courts, such as the declaration of nature as a subject of rights, or transformations in the territories, such as the proposal of a rural ecosystem model of environmental peace building.
