| Resumo: | Tliis paper intends basically to present the theoreticaldiscussion over the category "Cultural Fronts" asan interpretative tool for the various struggle processesin order to obtain a more legitimate definition of themeaning of certain topics of everyday life.In the first place, the discussion will reach the fourbig issues where the Cultural Fronts are located:a) T^e social construction of the meaning.b) Hegemony and Cultural Power social constitution.c) The struggle for cultural legitimity.d) The "trans-class" cultural elements and everydaylife.Different sociological concepts will be shown,according to three possible levels of cultural analysis, inorder to locate the place and the scale where the newcategory may be used.After tfie presentation and the discussion of thebackground and the categorical elements, a characterizationof the Cultural Fronts is made, whithin the polisemic and the semantical impUcation of its composition.They are located both as strugle spaces or fronts,and simultaneously, as.boundries or limits for an specificcontact between cultural conceptions and practicesof different groups and classes that co-exist in the samesociety.
