Experimental generation of convectively driven vortices
Vortical circulations, dynamically related to tornadoes, waterspouts, and dust-devils, have been produced in liquids by the use of gas bubbles as a buoyant energy source. Methods of generation, observation, and measurement are discussed and qualitative results illustrated.
