Description
Summary:By means of a research on archive sources, the author analyzes the events around Toribio´s Esquivel political career at León, Guanajuato. Esquivel, who was initially connected to the regime of Porfirio Díaz, turned to political opposition afterward. First of all Esquivel became against the Científicos and then he joined to the Centro Antirreeleccionista de México as a vice president. The paper also examines some difficulties opposed to a liberal-positivist in those cities where the power of Church was dominant and widespread.
