Descripción
Sumario:Velocities of currents in San Quintin Bay are computed by means of a one-dimensional model based on the mass conservation equation and observed tidal elevations. A method for the reconstruction of tidal gapped series is described. This melhod uses Ihe Z transform and requires two dependent and simultaneous series. Astronomical and non-astronomical effects on the tidal currents were analyzed. Velocities as computed were compared wilh current-meter data showing good agreement. The method can be used fo. computing tidal currents in coastal lagoons.
