The structure of commercial links between these two countries is characterized by the expansion of Russian hydrocarbon sales, on the one hand, and pronounced growth in Chinese exports of manufactured products, on the other. Investment cooperation between the two nations is of little relevance. Among the challenges facing Russia is the need to diversify its exports to China, as well as intensify ties in tourism, transportation and innovations.Desde principios del siglo xxi la cooperación económica entre Rusia y China, en especial el comercio bilateral, se desarrolló rápidamente y, en 2009, China se convirtió en el principal socio comercial de Rusia. La estructura sectorial de los nexos comerciales entre los dos países, se caracteriza por la expansión de las ventas rusas de hidrocarburos, por una parte, y el crecimiento muy pronunciado de las exportaciones chinas de productos manufactureros, por la otra. La cooperación en cuanto a inversiones entre los dos países no tiene mucha relevancia.
